The NDECPTA connects local families through learning and play to
foster growth at home and in our community.

Community Liaison Chair: Markie Campfield

Each year the NDECPTA supports several local community organizations through fundraising and service activities.

Some of our current community recipients are:

Community Partners of Dallas  -  www.cpdtx.org

Community Partners of Dallas (CPD) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring hope and dignity to abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services.

Pajama Program  -  www.pajamaprogram.org

Pajama Program is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and storybooks. Snuggling up in cozy, new pajamas with their very own new book, these children are given a secure and nurturing “good night” at bedtime.

Austin Street Shelter  -  www.austinstreet.org

Austin Street Center is one of the largest low barrier shelters in Dallas that has served men, ages 45 and older, and women, ages 18 and older since 1983.

Beyond meeting basic needs, Austin Street is committed to helping our clients regain their independence and find a permanent place to call home. No matter how they got here, we focus on a caring, customized, collaborative approach that involves a variety of services and special programs to remove barriers to permanent housing.

Vogel Alcove  -  www.vogelalcove.org

Children experiencing homelessness are four times more likely than their peers to show delayed development, and one in six homeless children has emotional disturbances. 25% of homeless preschool children have mental health problems that require clinical evaluation, and by age 8, one in three homeless children will have a mental disorder.

Vogel Alcove intervenes with children at this critical time in brain development, providing trauma-informed care that helps to counteract the effects of homelessness and put them on a path to success in school.

YoungLives  -  www.younglives.org

More than 25 years ago, Young Life answered God’s call to run headfirst into the chaos of teenage motherhood with the hope of Jesus... and YoungLives was born.

YoungLives has never wavered from the original vision to reach teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be. Through Young Life’s time-tested methods and life-on-life mentoring, teen moms are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

In North Dallas we are currently serving the teen moms at Thomas Jefferson High School and WT White High School.

Lake Highlands Area Moms Against Racism  -  www.lhamar.org

LHAMAR is committed to changing hearts, minds, circles, and systems to end racism and save lives. They Educate, Embolden, Empathize, Empower, Enfranchise, and Engage our communities.

Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support  -  www.genesisshelter.org

Genesis Women’s Shelter seeks to end the epidemic of domestic violence against women and children by stopping individual victimization and reducing the devastating impact of family violence through safety, shelter and expert services to battered women and their children.

The NDECPTA supports Genesis Women’s Shelter by serving a Saturday morning breakfast and holding donation drives at selected general meetings.

International Rescue Committee  -  www.rescue.org/us-program/us-dallas-tx

The IRC provides opportunities for refugees to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of refugees are invited by the U.S. government to seek safety and freedom here. Forced to flee conflict or persecution, many have survived for years against incredible odds. They step off the plane with next to nothing but their dignity, hope and determination. In Dallas and many other regional offices across the country, the IRC helps them rebuild their lives.

This year, the NDECPTA will support the work of the IRC via donation drives at selected general meetings and the opportunity to furnish and decorate an apartment for a refugee family.

Hope Supply Co.  -  http://hopesupplyco.org/

The mission of Hope Supply Co. is to meet the critical needs of homeless children across North Texas by providing necessities such as clothing, school supplies, toys and programs to enhance their lives.

This year, the NDECPTA will support Hope Supply Co. via a diaper donation drive in September.
